Efficiency and handwork is engrained in the “American ideals.” Office culture in 1960-70s developed these little office cubicles that are meant to provide maximum productivity. Along with the development of nuclear family, more kitchenware are advertised to provide efficiency at home. Even today, weekly Costco ads broadcast the ideal life with the new stand mixer or pot set.

The kitchen tools in the cubicles are recreated in a deconstructed form, where it no longer performs the function its was designed for. The leftover is a molded shell that suggests a certain function that its never supposed to perform. The deadpan humor is an attempt to mock the capitalist drive to become a 24/7 worker.
