My home and scenes around my house have always dragged me back to my real self. Through this painting, I try to depict a feeling of ease and a serene quality. The background is the view outside my family’s apartment door that I have always been drawn to. Even though my family has only been in California for a few years, I have always stopped for this view every time I came home. In front, I placed parts of my fridge on top of the view, as if the landscape became the shelves and storage spaces. The fridge perfectly depicts my family because food defines home and comfort for me.
